Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using AudioShift, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms of service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the application.
License
AudioShift is free and open source software released under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software according to the terms of that license.

Use of the Application
AudioShift is a desktop application that:
- Transcribes speech to text using on-device AI
- Operates entirely offline without network access
- Stores all data locally on your device
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of AudioShift complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
AI Model
AudioShift uses the Parakeet TDT 0.6B speech recognition model developed by NVIDIA. The model runs locally on your device. Use of the model is subject to its own license terms.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of transcriptions. The AI model may produce errors, and you should review transcribed text before relying on it for important purposes.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the application will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements. We do not warrant the accuracy of any transcriptions produced by the application.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL AUDIOSHIFT, ITS AUTHORS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of data or data corruption
- Inaccurate transcriptions or their consequences
- Business interruption or downtime
- Any other damages arising from the use of the software
This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring the application is compatible with your operating system
- Granting appropriate system permissions (microphone access, accessibility)
- Reviewing transcription accuracy before use
- Backing up any important transcription data
- Compliance with local recording and privacy laws
Support
AudioShift is a free, open source project. Support is provided on a best-effort basis through GitHub Issues. We do not guarantee response times or resolution of issues.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
